Dr. Edward Hughes is Music Director of Hornsey Parish Church and a founder-conductor of the Godwine Choir, with whom he has recorded on the EM Records label and toured internationally. His interests include Flemish polyphony of the late Renaissance and English choral music of the early 20th century. He is also a staunch supporter of contemporary composers, regularly commissioning new works.

Edward started his musical career as a choral scholar at St. Catharine’s College under Edward Wickham. He was principal oboist of the Cambridge University Music Society orchestra, and went on to direct the University of Cambridge Philharmonic Orchestra. Edward studies conducting with Paul Spicer and Patrick Allies, voice with Robert Rice and organ with Nicholas Morris.
