Hornsey Parish Church kindly supports four choral scholars each academic year. Scholarships are worth £750 per annum and are open to singers aged 16 – 30. Auditions take place at the end of September. Applications are via email to Dr. Edward Hughes ([email protected]), indicating past experience. At this time applications are closed.
A choral scholarship provides a young singer with an opportunity to expand their knowledge of the repertoire, to develop choral leadership skills, to perform solo works in services and concerts and to sing regularly with a high quality, diverse and sociable ensemble conveniently close to central London.
Our choral scholars are be confident singers, comfortable with sight reading. Scholarships suit sixth form students preparing for choral awards at university, current university students in London, and postgrads with a background in choral singing. There are opportunities for choral scholars to conduct the choir, should they be interested.
For the academic year 2019–2020, our choral scholars are Ciara Williams (King’s College, London), Jennifer Spencer (King’s College, London), Karl Reimer (KPMG) and Charles Collins (KPMG).
